Dual-National Babajide Crowned Liverpool Women Player Of The Season
Published: August 15, 2020
English-born striker of Nigerian descent Rinsola Babajide has been crowned Liverpool FC Women Player of the Season for the 2019-2020 campaign, informs the official website of the Reds.
The 22-year-old came first in the poll, with Melissa Lawley finishing in second place and Leighanne Robe in third.
Babajide was Liverpool Women's top scorer in the curtailed 2019-20 season, ending the campaign with 8 goals in all competitions.
The highlight of her performance was netting four goals in a single match as the Reds thrashed Blackburn Rovers 8-1 in the Women's FA Cup back in January.
She proved her loyalty to Liverpool by signing a new deal in the off-season despite the club's demotion to the FA Women's Championship.
A member of England's squad to the 2018 FIFA U20 Women's World Cup, she has also been capped by England at U19 and U21 levels.
