Published: August 27, 2020
Through their official website, English Premier League new boys Fulham have announced their new intake of Academy scholars for the 2020-2021 season.
Allnigeriasoccer.com exclusively reported three months ago that skillful Nigeria-eligible winger tipped for big things, Michael Olakigbe has agreed a scholarship deal and the Cottagers have confirmed as much.
Olakigbe is among the seven players who have made the jump from U16 to U18 level.
Providing the lowdown on Olakigbe, Fulham Under-16/17s Coach Dan Thomas said : "He joined us at Under-14s from QPR, we paid some compensation to QPR to bring him to Fulham.
"Michael's a very direct right-winger who loves to dribble and take players on. He’s a real hard worker with pace and is your classic winger.
"He managed to play up in the Under-18s a couple of times last season and scored a couple of goals. He's already shown he's capable of playing at this level."
