QPR's Osayi-Samuel Passes Audition With Flying Colours After Scoring Against Arsenal In Friendly
Published: September 02, 2020
Bright Osayi-Samuel was among the scorers as Queens Park Rangers were beaten 4-3 by Arsenal in an entertaining behind-closed-doors friendly at London Colney training ground on Tuesday, September 1, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
At the moment, it is not yet known the Arsenal players that participated in yesterday's friendly but central midfielder Miguel Azeez had hinted that he would be involved against the Hoops.
As for Queens Park Rangers, Osayi-Samuel, Aramide Oteh and Luke Amos were named in the starting lineup.
Ossie Kakay gave the visitors the lead but the Gunners netted three without reply to make it 3-1, before Osayi-Samuel scored to reduce the deficit.
The 22-year-old Nigerian-born winger performed excellently against Premier League opposition and showed off his skills to Arsenal first team coach Mikel Arteta.
The Gunners are among the teams that sent scouts to run the rule over Osayi-Samuel in the 2019-2020 season but have not followed up their interest in the winger, who scooped Queens Park Rangers' Young Player of the Season and Goal of the Season awards last term.
A move to the Premier League for Osayi-Samuel may be on the cards before the close of the summer transfer window as he has been linked with other top-flight teams.
