Olayinka And Bola Train Alongside Arsenal New Signing Willian For The First Time
Published: September 04, 2020Spanish football tactician Mikel Arteta put his players through their paces at London Colney on Friday ahead of Arsenal's first Premier League match of the season against Fulham next weekend, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The biggest novelty in today's workout was the appearance of Brazilian winger Willian who completed his move to the Emirates Stadium last month but did not meet up with his new teammates until today.
With nine first teamers away on international duty, Arteta called up some promising academy players to join the workout, including left-back Tolaji Bola and central midfielder James Olayinka.
The two Nigeria-eligible youngsters were pictured training alongside William during the training session.
Barring a loan move to the English Football League or abroad, everything is pointing to the fact that Olayinka will make his first team debut for the Gunners in the 2020-2021 campaign.
He has returned to the north London club after a successful loan spell at Northampton Town in the second half of last season, helping the Cobblers secure promotion to the League One via the playoffs.
Olayinka was an unused substitute in Arsenal's win on penalties against Liverpool in the Community Shield before the international break.
