Arsenal Striker Balogun Celebrates Goal Against Tottenham Hotspur U23 In 2-2 Draw
Published: September 06, 2020
Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur U23s played to a 2-2 draw in a pre-season friendly at at Hotspur Way on Saturday afternoon, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The home team took the lead through Dermi Lusala in the opening minutes but the game turned on its head when George Lewis and Folarin Balogun found the net to give the Gunners a 2-1 lead, before Dilan Markanday restored parity eight minutes from time.
Balogun continues to train with Arsenal's development squad amid speculation linking him with a summer departure from the Emirates Stadium, having refused to extend his contract which expires at the end of the 2020-2021 season.
Shortly after the game, the highly-rated striker took to social media to celebrate scoring against Arsenal's fierce rivals.
"Feels good to be back! 2-2 draw vs Spurs n a goal ⚽️," Balogun tweeted.
Last season, Balogun was Arsenal's top scorer in the Premier League 2 with 10 goals from 15 appearances.
Goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo, James Olayinka, Miguel Azeez and Tim Akinola are among the Nigeria-eligible players set to feature for Arsenal U23s in the new season.
