'He Plays For My Favorite Team Man Utd' - Norrby GK Cites De Gea Among His Role Models
Published: September 07, 2020
Talented Norrby IF goalkeeper Abraham Oluware has named Manchester United star David de Gea among his role models.
Born in Sweden to an Italian-Croatian mother and Nigerian father fifteen years ago, Oluware has pledged his international future to Nigeria and hopes to be called up to the Golden Eaglets in the coming months.
Oluware has revealed that he looks up to Manchester City's Ederson, Wolverhampton Wanderers' Rui Patrício, Manchester United's David de Gea and Juventus' Gianluigi Buffon as an inspiration.
"There are many goalkeepers that I like, Ederson from Manchester City I like his footwork, I also like Rui Patrício - he saves penalties and that's where I learn a lot," Oluware said to allnigeriasoccer.com.
"David De Gea is a good goalkeeper, he plays for my favorite team Manchester United, he makes many good saves.
"Another goalkeeper that has inspired me is Buffon, he is magnificent and does magic when he is playing.
"A goalkeeper from Borsas where I live who is good and I learn a lot from is Alex Rham - a warrior and a role model."
When it comes to Nigerian goalkeepers, Oluware revealed that he draws inspiration from APOEL's Francis Uzoho.
"My favourite goalkeeper from Nigeria is Francis Uzoho, he is good and when I saw him play I was very inspired.
"I am most inspired by my past because I was not so good but when I see my development, I want to train more and more to become a better goalkeeper," he concluded.
