Arsenal's Balogun Delighted To Open His 2020-21 Season Account Despite Cloudy Future
Published: September 09, 2020Prolific Arsenal youth-teamer Folarin Balogun was delighted to open his account for the 2020-2021 season as the Gunners came from behind to register a 2-1 win against Ipswich Town in an EFL Trophy clash at Portman Road on Tuesday evening.
Despite the speculation surrounding the future of the American-born Nigerian frontman, he continues to deliver on the pitch.
Last weekend, he got on the scoresheet in a 2-2 draw at Tottenaham Hotspur in a pre-season friendly and was Arsenal's saviour against the The Blues, scoring what proved to be the winning goal in the 54th minute.
Balogun has not been spotted training with the Gunners
first team in pre-season amid his contract standoff with the north
London club.
The 19-year-old pounced on a defence-splitting pass from Ben Cottrell to beat Ipswich Town goalkeeper David Cornell for 2-1.
Writing on Twitter, Balogun stated : "Nice to help the boys tonight with a goal in a 2-1 win v Ipswich in the Checkatrade đȘđŒđ„".
English Premier League and German clubs are monitoring the situation of Balogun with a view to a transfer before the close of the summer transfer window.
