Crystal Palace Coach Hodgson Banking On Summer Signing Eze To Score And Make Goals
Coach Roy Hodgson is banking on former Queens Park Rangers playmaker Eberechi Eze to come up with goals and assists for Crystal Palace this season.

The Eagles brought in competition for their attack-minded players by signing the England U21 international and Chelsea-owned striker Michy Batshuayi and they had their best start to a Premier League season, winning their opening two matches.

Last season, Eze was involved in 22 goals (14 goals, 8 assists) but has yet to score or assist after three games as a Crystal Palace player.

"Competition for places is good for everyone at the football club and certainly as the manager," Hodgson was quoted as saying by Crystal Palace's official webpage

"We’ve long since come away from believing football is an 11-man game, especially during lockdown when we were getting used to it being a 16-man game... The quality of your bench becomes of vital importance.

"We’ve been able to bring in players to bring in competition to our attacking phase of play. In Eberechi Eze and Michy Batshuayi we have players to score and make goals."

In their next fixture on Saturday, September 26, Crystal Palace face an in-form Everton side who have been ruthless in attack in the new season, with an incredible 13 goals in their last three matches.
