Exclusive : Ex-Birmingham City Star Solomon-Otabor Extends Wigan Athletic Contract
Published: October 05, 2020Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report former Birmingham City Young Player of the Year Viv Solomon-Otabor has ended speculation about his future by signing a contract extension with EFL League One club Wigan Athletic.
The onetime Super Eagles invitee has emerged as a key player since joining the Latics on a short-term deal last month.
Motherwell and unnamed Championship clubs in England were keeping tabs on Solomon-Otabor before he agreed to extend his stay at Wigan Athletic.
The new deal signed by the exciting winger will keep him at the DW Stadium until January 2021, at which point he will be free to join a new club on a free transfer assuming he ends his association with Wigan.
Solomon-Otabor has provided two assists in four starts in the League One for Wigan and also featured in the EFL Trophy, helping them register an impressive 6-1 win over Liverpool, while his other appearance came in the League Cup vs Fleetwood Town.
During his Birmingham City days he enjoyed loan spells at Oxford City, Bolton Wanderers, Blackpool and Portsmouth and turned out for CSKA Sofia in Bulgaria last season.
