Reading's Olise Thunderbolt Nominated For Championship Goal Of The Month
Published: October 10, 2020Reading starlet Michael Olise is in the running to win the Championship Goal of the Month for September 2020, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The former Chelsea schoolboy, in his 32nd appearance for the Royals first team, netted his first professional goal in a 2-0 victory over Barnsley on September 19.
With 14 minutes remaining at the Madejski Stadium, Olise scored a second goal that sealed the win for the home team, thrashing the ball into the bottom corner from distance following a a half-cleared corner.
Olise's terrific strike is up against goals from Huddersfield Town's Fraizer Campbell and Blackburn Rovers midfielder Bradley Johnson for the monthly accolade.
Still only 18, the left-footed central midfielder qualifies to represent the national teams of Nigeria, France and England, but the French Football Federation have taken the first step to lock his future by inviting him to their U18 team.
