Confirmed : Russian Club Alania Vladikavkaz Announce Signing Of Sodiq Rasheed
Published: October 18, 2020Russian Football National League club FC Alania Vladikavkaz have officially announced the signing of Nigerian center back Sodiq Rasheed who last wore the jersey of BK Fremad Amager in Denmark.
The 20-year-old has inked a three-year contract with Alania Vladikavkaz until the end of the 2022-23 season.
Rasheed moved to Europe in August 2018 from Nigerian club Remo Stars and departs BK Fremad Amager after making 19 appearances for the club in all competitions.
Former Nigeria internationals Isaac Okoronkwo and Sani Kaita previously turned out for the Vladikavkaz team.
Victor Moses (Spartak), Chidera Ejuke (CSKA), Sylvester Igboun (Dinamo), Brian Idowu (Khimki) and Chidi Osuchukwu (Tom Tomsk) currently play for Russian clubs.
After 16 matches in the Football National League, Alania Vladikavkaz occupy the sixth position in the standings with 28 points.
Of the teams in the top nine, they have the second worst defensive record having conceded 18 goals.
