Spartak Moscow Coach Explains Why Chelsea Loanee Moses Was Not In Squad Vs Yenisey
Published: October 21, 2020
Spartak Moscow coach Domenico Tedesco has explained why Victor Moses was not in the squad that suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Yenisey in a Russian Cup clash at the Stadion Metallurg (Krasnoyarsk) on Wednesday afternoon.
Few days after his signing was confirmed, the Chelsea loanee was handed his debut, coming off the bench in the 55th minute to help Spartak Moscow register a 3-2 win at Khimki.
Moses wasn't the only notable player omitted from the squad against Yenisey as Brazilian defender Ayrton and Czech midfielder Alex Král were also not involved.
Asked by the official website of Spartak Moscow why Moses wasn't there, Tedesco replied : "Not only Moses. There was no Kral, Ayrton and others who stayed at home to prepare for the match against Krasnodar.
"Moses works in Moscow with a physical training coach."
Moses is spending the remainder of the season at the Red and White and the loan deal does include an obligation to buy provided certain conditions are met.
Despite the loss to Yenisey, Spartak topped Group 2 of the Russian Cup so advance to the next round.
