Arsenal Manager Arteta Calls Up Two Nigeria-Eligible Teenagers For UEL Clash Vs Molde
Published: November 24, 2020Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Arsenal first team manager Mikel Arteta has called up two Nigeria-eligible teenagers for Thursday's Europe League meeting against Molde.
The 18-year-old central midfielder Miguel Azeez and 19-year-old striker Folarin Balogun were spotted boarding the plane at Luton Airport on Tuesday, putting both in contention to feature against the 2019 Norwegian champions.
It would be the first-ever squad involvement for Azeez if selected in the matchday squad on Thursday evening.
As for Balogun, he made his professional debut when the Gunners beat Dundalk 3-0 on October 29.
A second year professional, Azeez has trained with Arsenal's first team on multiple occasions and was handed a runout by Arteta in a pre-season game against Milton Keynes Dons in August.
Exciting striker Balogun is knocking on the door of the Arsenal first team following his impressive performances for the U23 side and has skippered the age group in their last five Premier League 2 matches.
Arsenal have three wins in their first three matches in this season's Europa League and would qualify for the knockout rounds with a victory at the Aker Stadium.
