Leicester's Ndukwu Impresses In No. 10 Role With Goal In 5-1 Rout Of Tottenham Hotspur PL 2
Published: November 30, 2020
Promising Nigerian youngster Layton Ndukwu was among the scorers as Leicester City thrashed Tottenham Hotspur 5-1 in a Premier League 2 clash at Hotspur Way Training Centre (London) on Monday afternoon.
The Foxes U23s manager set up his team in a 4-2-3-1 formation with Ndukwu deployed in a central attacking midfield position or number 10 role.
The 22-year-old was used mostly as a left and right winger by the Leicester City youth team coaches before the start of the 2020-2021 campaign.
Today he proved he is able to adapt to his new position after showing his attacking quality and opened the scoring when he pounced on a defensive error before finishing into the far corner in the 14th minute.
Tottenham Hotspur were level at the break thanks to Nigerian striker Kion Etete who scored through a header in the 28th minute.
Second half goals from Wright (2), Muskwe and Wakeling saw the Foxes register a comfortable victory.
The Tottenham squad was captained by central defender Jubril Okedina and he went the full ninety along with Etete while Ndukwu subbed out with 12 minutes left on the clock.
