Charismatic Midfielder Likened To Axel Witsel Gives Selection Hint Ahead Of Arsenal's UEL Clash
Published: December 03, 2020
Spanish-Nigerian midfielder Miguel Azeez has hinted that he will be selected in Arsenal's matchday squad for their Europa League clash against Rapid Vienna at the Emirates Stadium tonight.
It has come to light that the England youth international was called up to first team training by manager Mikel Arteta on Wednesday.
And after the workout at London Colney, Azeez took to Instagram to confirm that he is ready to make his professional debut against the 32-time Austrian champions.
"Training day👀💪🏽 @europaleague," Azeez wrote.
The central midfielder was an unused substitute the last time Arsenal were in Europa League action, against Molde last Thursday, with Arteta bringing on Folarin Balogun as his fifth and final substitute eight minutes from time.
Azeez has been described as a tactically intelligent, versatile and charismatic midfielder, gifted with good ball skills, mobility, distribution, vision, and ability to read the game.
The 18-year-old has been likened to Borrussia Dortmund's Axel Witsel due to his similar playing style.
