'Iwobi Did Really Well' - Everton Boss Ancelotti Mightily Impressed With Performance Of RWB
Published: December 05, 2020Everton failed to climb into the top four after they were held to a 1-1 draw in a Premier League clash at Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon.
In the absence of the injured Seamus Coleman, Alex Iwobi was selected to play as a right wing-back for the second consecutive match and must have impressed manager Carlo Ancelotti considering the fact that he lasted ninety minutes on the pitch.
Indeed, the experienced Italian football tactician admitted that he was pretty impressed with the performance of the Nigeria international when he spoke to the media after the game.
Though his crosses let him down, Iwobi was one of Everton's most valuable attacking outlets against the Clarets.
"It is true we needed to adapt with Godfrey at left-back and Iwobi at right-back and, honestly, they did really well," said Ancelotti to Everton's official webpage.
"Jordan is back. He played very well. He has a lot of quality and for him it is important to stay mentally in good condition and fit and motivated."
