Leicester City Striker Destroying Corner Flag : Vardy Replies Iheanacho, Ndidi In Nigerian Pidgin
Published: December 07, 2020
Leicester City returned to winning ways on Sunday afternoon, beating Sheffield United 2-1 at Bramall Lane thanks to Jamie Vardy's 90th minute winner.
The game saw the return of Wilfred Ndidi to the matchday squad having fully recovered from an adductor injury he sustained vs Burnley in September and the midfielder was later brought on along with Kelechi Iheanacho in the 69th minute.
A product of the Sheffield Wednesday academy, Vardy took his celebrations a little too far by destroying the corner flag and the referee didn't see the funny side of things as he issued a yellow card to the Foxes number 9.
The aforementioned Leicester City players had a hilarious banter on Instagram after the match and it seems Iheanacho and Ndidi have influenced Vardy into speaking Nigerian pidgin.
The conversation began with Iheanacho posting, "Great fight boys well deserved 3 points @ndidi25 Wilf what are you looking at 👀", accompanied by a picture of the players celebrating the winning goal and Ndidi gazing at the smashed corner flag.
Ndidi took a funny dig at Vardy and wrote: "Corner flag wey vardy break lol".
Replying, Iheanacho said : "@ndidi25 Na Corner flag of you people 😛🤣".
Vardy commented, tagging his Nigerian teammates : "@ndidi25 @kelechi72 No be me do am".
Iheanacho replied the former England striker : "@vardy7 🤣 Oga Na you do am but Wilf no like am".
