Ndidi Sets Single-Game Tackle Record For Leicester City In Draw Vs Manchester United
Published: December 27, 2020
Nigeria international Wilfred Ndidi set a single-game tackle record for Leicester City during their 2-2 draw with Manchester United in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
According to the statisticians at Squawka, the holding midfielder made seven tackles against Manchester United, the most by any Leicester player in a single Premier League game this season, beating his own record in the process.
Of the seven matches Ndidi has been involved in the Premier League this season, he was the stat leader for tackles in three matches, against Burnley (3), Everton (6) and Manchester United (7).
It is worth mentioning that the Nath Boys product was deployed as a central defender in two of the matches he completed the most number of tackles, in the win vs Burnley and loss to the Toffees.
In his first two full seasons in England, the former Racing Genk star was the top-tackling player in the Premier League and ranked second behind Manchester United's Aaron Wan-Bissaka for the 2019-2020 campaign.
Ndidi is in contention to reach a 150-game milestone for Leicester City in tomorrow's clash against Eberechi Eze's Crystal Palace.
