Ex-Eagles Trainee Hungbo Reacts To Watford's Narrow Loss To Manchester United
Published: January 10, 2021Former Crystal Palace trainee Joseph Hungbo has expressed mixed feelings in the wake of Watford's 1-0 loss to Manchester United in a third round Emirates FA Cup fixture on Saturday night.
The decisive moment of the game came in the the fifth minute when Scott McTominay headed home a delivery from Alex Telles.
Twenty-four hours after returning from his loan spell at non-leaguers Aldershot Town, Hungbo was named in the Hornets traveling party to Manchester and tasted action for the last fourteen minutes.
In the 86th minute, the 2000-born winger came close to bagging an equaliser when he cut inside and saw his shot deflected wide after Watford pulled off an excellent counter-attack.
Hungbo was delighted to be involved against one of the best teams in the world, Manchester United but was disappointed that they lost the match.
Writing on Instagram, the Watford number 44 said : "Disappointed with the end result yesterday. But it was great to be involved and get another appearance for the club! The work continues! #JH44".
Since joining Watford from the Eagles in 2018, Hungbo has appeared in three first team matches, two of them in the FA Cup and the other in the Carabao Cup.
