Italian pundit : Napoli would have scored four goals per game with Mertens and Osimhen in squad

Sky Sport Italia pundit Fabio Caressa thinks Napoli would have scored up to four goals per game earlier in the season if manager Gennaro Gattuso was able to count on the services of Victor Osimhen and Dries Mertens.
While the Nigeria national teamer was unavailable for selection in twenty matches in all competitions largely as a result of fitness issues, the experienced Belgium striker has already missed twelve games this season due to ankle injuries.
Osimhen and Mertens were in the Napoli side that netted four goals against Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo's Crotone on Saturday, with the two players getting on the scoresheet.
Napoli are one of the form teams in the Serie A, winning five of their last six matches and drawing the other, and only table-toppers Inter Milan have a better record.
"Gattuso will be re-reading the list of all those who have criticized him, probably the soccer players," Caressa said on Sky Sport Italia via ilnapolionline.com.
"At a certain point of the season, Napoli found themselves taking the field without important players like Mertens and Osimhen, with them they would have scored four goals per game".
Osimhen and his strike partner will come under the spotlight when Napoli face defending champions Juventus in the Serie A on Wednesday, April 7.
