Goals keep flowing for Super Eagles star Onuachu as Genk striker scores for third game running
Published: April 05, 2021
Paul Onuachu was on target as Racing Genk registered a 3-2 win over Oud-Heverlee Leuven in a Belgian First Division A clash at King Power at Den Dreef Stadion on Monday afternoon.
The lanky striker has now scored in his last three matches for club and country, having netted twice off the bench in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against the Republic of Benin and Lesotho.
The goals keep flowing for Onuachu and only Bayern Munich's Polish striker Robert Lewandowski has managed to find the net more than the Super Eagles star in 2020-2021.
Kristian Thorstvedt on 7 minutes opened the scoring for Genk, Xavier Mercier equalised for the home team at minute 74, before Theo Bongonda made it 2-1 in the 81st minute.
Onuachu netted an insurance goal for the visitors in the 83rd minute and Thomas Henry pulled a goal back in the 92nd minute, three minutes after the former FC Midtjylland man made way for fellow Nigeria international Cyriel Dessers.
Onuachu has racked up 30 goals combined for club and country so far this season.
