English Premier League promotion candidates Watford have provided a positive update on two Nigerian players in William Troost-Ekong and Tom Dele-Bashiru ahead of their trip to Luton Town.
Super Eagles assistant captain Troost-Ekong was substituted in the 70th minute of the Hornets 2-0 win versus Reading on April 9 after suffering an injury.
As for Nigeria U23 international Dele-Bashiru, he has not figured for Watford since suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury back in October and he had to go under the knife due to the ailment.
On Troost-Ekong, Watford's official website wrote : "Nathaniel Chalobah and William Troost-Ekong – both of whom were substituted as an injury precaution last Friday night at home to Reading – are pushing to be part of the plans for the trip to Luton Town this weekend, with a final call on their involvement tomorrow (Friday).".
On Dele-Bashiru, Watford explained : "After his October ACL injury, Tom Dele-Bashiru’s steady progress means he’s now targeting some kind of involvement in first-team training before the end of the season.
"His strengthening work continues out on the grass at Watford FC’s London Colney training facility."
Watford sit second in the Championship standings with 82 points, five matches to the end of the regular season.
