Ex-Atletico Madrid striker Adighibe scores 94th minute equaliser against Real Madrid II in Segunda Division B
Published: April 17, 2021
CF Talavera's Nigerian center forward Uzo Adighibe scored with almost the last kick of the game to rescue a 2-2 draw against Real Madrid Castilla in a Spanish Segunda B clash at Ciudad Real Madrid Campo 3 on Saturday evening.
The 25-year-old had no goal involvement for CF Talavera prior to today's trip to the Spanish capital.
Los Blancos would have been sure they were going to take all three points as they led by two goals with seven minutes left on the clock, only for the game to take a twist.
Edmilson dos Santos halved the deficit in the 84th minute, before Adighibe, who entered the game as a substitute in the 71st minute, tapped in from close range in the fourth of minute of stoppage time.
Interestingly, the Nigerian has made just two starts for CF Talavera this term but was forced off injured in both games, against CD Badajoz and CP Villarrobledo last month.
Adighibe began his career in Spain with the youth team of CD Leganes, followed by spells with Atlético de Madrid, CD Guadalajara B, UB Conquense, Unión Adarve and Pontevedra.
He has been playing for third-tier CF Talavera since August 2020.
