Squad update Nigeria : Twenty players now in camp as Musa, Onuachu report for duty
Published: June 02, 2021Nigeria manager Gernot Rohr has the full complement of players at his disposal, two days before the Super Eagles face five-time African champions Cameroon in a friendly in Austria.
This morning, Kano Pillars winger Ahmed Musa finally showed up in camp and he was joined later by Racing Genk striker Paul Onuachu, bringing the total number of players in camp to twenty.
Five players named to the finalized roster, namely Tyronne Ebuehi, Ola Aina, Frank Onyeka, Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo and Victor Osimhen pulled out of the squad, citing injuries.
What does not add up is the fact that the aforementioned 'injured players' were all included in the matchday squads in the last game played by their respective clubs in the recently concluded season.
Meanwhile, the Super Eagles players celebrated with Galatasaray defender Valentine Ozornwafor, who marked his 22nd birthday on Tuesday, June 1.
They sang a birthday song for Ozornwafor, who thanked them for their support, before cutting his birthday cake.
