Leicester City's Super Eagles duo reach career-high market values after breakout season
Published: June 09, 2021
Nigeria internationals Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi have both reached their highest market values following an outstanding season with Leicester City.
The striker and holding midfielder played key roles as the Foxes won the FA Cup for the first time in their history by beating Chelsea 1-0 in the showpiece at Wembley, and helped the club finish fifth in the Premier League.
According to the latest market value updates published by Transfermarkt on Tuesday, June 8, Ndidi has a price tag of 60 million euros and Iheanacho is rated at 20 million euros.
Prior to the latest update, Ndidi was valued at €50m as at March 18, 2021 and Iheanacho at €15m.
Ndidi is the most expensive player at Leicester City ahead of Youri Tielemans (€55m), James Maddison (€55m), Caglar Soyüncu (€45m), Wesley Fofana (€40m) and Harvey Barnes (€35m), and Iheanacho is in sixth place.
When it comes to Nigerian players, the former Racing Genk ace is number one and the ex-Manchester City striker ranks fourth while they occupy 21st and 142nd respectively among all footballers in the Premier League.
Ndidi and Iheanacho started the two recent friendly matches against Cameroon in Austria.
