Cardiff City interested in signing Liverpool's Nigeria-eligible winger
Published: July 13, 2021Championship outfit Cardiff City are interested in re-signing Liverpool's Nigeria-eligible winger Sheyi Ojo on loan, according to a report by WalesOnline.
The 2017 U20 World Cup winner with England is seemingly not in the plans of Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp for the first half of the 2021-2022 season as he was omitted from the traveling squad to Austria, where the Reds are holding a training camp as part of their preparations for the forthcoming season.
The stumbling block to Ojo returning to the Bluebirds for a second spell is that Liverpool are determined to sell him permanently rather than loaning him out for a fifth consecutive season.
In addition, a unnamed German team is monitoring the situation of the 24-year-old with a view to a swoop in the summer transfer window.
Ojo has made a total of thirteen first team appearances for Liverpool since his debut and his contract runs out on June 30, 2023.
He has not had the chance to show what he is made of under Jurgen Klopp in the last four years, with the German sanctioning loan moves to Fulham, Reims, Glasgow Rangers and Cardiff City.
Ojo contributed five goals and seven assists in 42 appearances for Cardiff City over the course of the 2020-2021 campaign.
