Crystal Palace, Newcastle United, Southampton mull over move for Super Eagles hopeful
Published: July 25, 2021
Premier League trio Southampton, Newcastle United and Crystal
Palace are being linked with a potential swoop for Super Eagles hopeful
Ademola Lookman this summer.
Chronicle Live
says Newcastle United have been offered the chance to sign Lookman who
is also interesting Southampton, and the winger is rated at £10million.
The
2017 U20 World Cup winner with England was first linked with the
Magpies in January 2020 when he was struggling for game time at RB
Leipzig.
Newcastle United may be put off
by RB Leipzig's valuation of Lookman as they are operating on a
shoestring budget before last week's hammer blow about arbitration.
The
23-year-old proved last season that he can hold his own in the Premier
League, scoring four goals and assisting four others in 31 starts for
demoted Fulham.
Crystal Palace have identified
Lookman as a potential signing if he would come on loan, but he's not
the only winger on the wish list as Arsenal's Reiss Nelson and PSV's Noni
Madueke are also players of interest.
Lookman has three years to run on his current contract at RB Leipzig, whom he joined from Everton.
