Luton Town, Peterborough make bids for defender eligible for Nigeria, England, St Vincent
Published: August 04, 2021According to Football Insider, Championship clubs Peterborough United and Luton Town are in the running to sign versatile Lincoln City defender Tayo Edun in the summer transfer window.
Peterborough United and Luton Town have registered their interest in the London-born Edun by making official bids to Lincoln City.
The 23-year-old has made excellent progress since leaving boyhood club Fulham permanently in January 2020, making 59 appearances in all competitions for the Imps with a goal involvement of nine (2 goals, 7 assists).
An U19 EURO winner with England in 2017, Edun is also eligible to wear the jerseys of Nigeria and St. Vincent & Grenadines at international level through his parents.
Lincoln City are optimistic of being able to hang on to Edun but it won't be easy to keep him as clubs higher up the football pyramid are interested in him.
He joined Lincoln City on a two-and-a-half-year deal and has now entered the final twelve months of his contract with the League One club.
Edun is comfortable playing as a left-back, defensive midfielder, central midfielder and left midfielder.
