Shoretire on target, Olowu in action for Man Utd U23s in 2-2 draw with Kidderminster Harriers
Published: August 06, 2021National League North club Kidderminster Harriers fought from two goals down to secure a 2-2 draw with Manchester United U23s in a pre-season friendly at Aggborough on Friday night.
Nigerian-born center-back Joseph Olowu, featuring as a trialist, was joined in the starting lineup by Shole Shoretire, while Dutch-Nigerian striker Dillion Hoogewerf was among the substitutes.
Manchester United were off to a flyer as Forson's composed finish gave them the lead inside five minutes.
Twelve minutes before half-time, the Red Devils doubled their advantage through Shoretire, who prodded home from close range.
Kidderminster Harriers pulled a goal back as Fernandez diverted into his own net after a dangerous cross from Richards in the 72nd minute before Sam Austins rescued a draw with a superb shot from 20 yards in the closing minutes.
Olowu will continue training with Manchester United until next week when a decision will be made on whether or not to offer him a contract.
Manchester United U23s begin their Premier League 2 campaign against Leicester City at Leigh Sports Village on August 16.
