Onyedinma named in EFL Championship Team of the Week after MOTM display vs Peterborough
Published: August 09, 2021Nigerian-born winger Fred Onyedinma has been included in Whoscored.com's Championship Team of the Week following his outstanding display for Luton Town in their 3-0 rout of Peterborough United on Saturday.
The 24-year-old, a summer signing from Wycombe Wanderers, had a dream debut after providing two assists and scoring the third goal in a man-of-the-match performance.
In a 4-4-2 formation, Onyedinma was deployed as the left midfielder in the Team of the Week.
He was the best rated player in the TOTW with a rating of 9.6, placing first ahead of Hull City midfielder Richard Smallwood (8.7).
Against Peterborough United, Onyedinma registered a game-high three shots on target, had two key passes, was accurate in 70 percent of his passes, won one aerial duel and was the top dribbler (5).
Defensively, he committed six fouls - more than any player on the pitch - while making one interception and one clearance.
A product of the Millwall academy, Onyedinma has totaled 88 games in the Championship since his debut, scoring five goals and collecting twelve assists.
