Racing Genk sporting director Dimitri De Condé has confirmed that the Belgian cup winners intend to sign a new striker before the close of the summer transfer window.
The Limburg club are strongly linked with a permanent move for Super Eagles hopeful Ike Ugbo who is not in the plans of Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel for the new season following his omission from the last two pre-season games and the UEFA Super Cup provisional roster.

The Limburg club are strongly linked with a permanent move for Super Eagles hopeful Ike Ugbo who is not in the plans of Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel for the new season following his omission from the last two pre-season games and the UEFA Super Cup provisional roster.
Allnigeriasoccer.com exclusively reported four weeks ago that contrary to reports, Racing Genk's plan to sign Ugbo does not hinge on the sale of Nigeria national teamer Paul Onuachu as manager John van den Brom could tweak his formation and play with two strikers.
Genk chief Dimitri De Condé has confirmed as much, saying that a new striker will be signed even if Onuachu remains at the club.
In quotes relayed by Voetbalkrant making reference to Sporza, De Condé said : "My homework isn't done yet. Everyone knows that the striker position is the most difficult.
"We don't know what will happen. But even if Onuachu stays, it is the intention that an attacker will still be attracted."
Ugbo impressed last season during a loan spell at Belgian First Division A club Cercle Brugge, scoring seventeen goals in 34 appearances across all competitions.
It is understood that the striker has already agreed personal terms with Genk and Chelsea are looking at selling him for a fee in the region of five million euros.
