Super Eagles winger named in Russian Premier League Team of the Week
Published: August 11, 2021
Nigeria international Chidera Ejuke has been included in Whoscored.com's Russian Premier League Team of the Week following the conclusion of matchday three.
The former Liverpool trialist opened his account for the season as CSKA Moscow were beaten 2-1 by Dynamo in the Moscow derby on Sunday, August 8.
In his first start of 2021-2022, Ejuke got on the scoresheet after eight minutes when he sprinted into the box before curling a shot into the top corner.
Dynamo Moscow are his favourite opponents in Russia, with three of his six goals in the Russian top-flight netted against the White-Blues, following his move from Heerenveen last summer.
In a 4-4-2 formation, Ejuke occupied the left side of midfield in the RPL Team of the Week, and was awarded a rating of eight out of ten - the fourth highest rated player in the ceremonial eleven.
The Super Eagles star finished with a joint game-high two shots on target, completed a game-high six dribbles, and was successful in 74.2 percent of his passes.
Ejuke won one foul for his team and made one interception in ninety minutes of action.
