Anjorin rubs shoulders with Chelsea's record signing Romelu Lukaku in training pre-Arsenal
Published: August 18, 2021Faustino Anjorin is seemingly in contention to be included in Chelsea's matchday squad for their mouthwatering clash against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, August 22.
The England youth international of Nigerian descent has yet to play a competitive game for the Chelsea teams in 2021-2022, missing the Premier League opening day win vs Crystal Palace on Saturday, before he was omitted from the U23 squad against Tottenham Hotspur two days later.
Chelsea's record signing at 115 million euros, Romelu Lukaku officially started training with his new teammates at the Blues on Tuesday afternoon and also worked out on Wednesday morning.
It is confirmed that Anjorin trained alongside the Belgium international yesterday and today.
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel put Anjorin and the rest of the squad through their paces during the open training session at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday, while the squad trained at Cobham on Tuesday.
The Anglo-Nigerian midfielder was involved in only one match during the pre-season, against Tottenham Hotspur on August 4, after recovering from coronavirus.
Anjorin has been allocated a first team squad number, 27, for the new season.
