Official : PAOK loan in Arsenal academy product Akpom from Middlesbrough
With a statement on their official website, Greek Super League club PAOK have announced the signing of Nigerian striker Chuba Akpom on loan until the end of the season from Championship outfit Middlesbrough.

The Arsenal academy product is returning to PAOK for a second spell, a year after he departed the club to join Boro.

Boro's capture of Uche Ikpeazu in the summer saw Akpom drop down manager Neil Warnock's pecking order of strikers, logging only 19 minutes in the new season from a possible 450 in all competitions.

The former England youth international enjoyed a successful spell at PAOK, scoring 18 goals and contributing 10 assists in 79 appearances, and helped the club win the league and Cup in his first season in Thessaloniki.

Akpom was named man-of-the-match in the 2018 Cup final against AEK after scoring the winning goal.

The 25-year-old totaled eleven appearances combined in the Europa League and Champions League qualifiers during his first spell with PAOK.

He spent time on loan at Brentford, Coventry City, Nottingham Forest, Hull City, Brighton & Hove and Sint-Truiden during his time at Arsenal, for whom he made 12 appearances.
