'He's irreplaceable' - Leicester boss admits absence of Super Eagles midfielder will be felt
Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has highlighted the importance of Wilfred Ndidi to his squad, saying that the holding midfielder will be missed against Legia Warsaw.

Against Napoli in the Foxes' Europa League opener, Portuguese referee Tiago Martins produced a red card in the 93rd minute after the Super Eagles star picked up his second caution for pulling the shirt of Ounas near the half-way line.

Around the midway point of the first half, the holding midfielder was booked for a challenge on Zambo Anguissa.

The red card activated an automatic one-match suspension and he is not in contention to suit up against the Polish giants on Thursday.

Despite being disappointed that Ndidi is out of the game, Rodgers stressed that Leicester City will look for a way to cope without their number 25.

"It’s impossible to find what we have in Wilf," Rodgers was quoted as saying by Leicester Cty's official website.

"We have good players, but specifically the job he does in breaking up the play and defending in the box, he’s irreplaceable, but we have lots of good players.

"You have to find a way. Earlier on in the season, we brought [Boubakary] Soumaré into the squad because he gives us that physicality.

"Wilf’s a fabulous player and hopefully he’s be okay for the weekend."

Former Racing Genk star Ndidi has appeared in 21 European matches, with nine in the colours of Leicester City.
