Ex-Chelsea wing-back Moses reacts to Spartak Moscow's win over Napoli
Published: September 30, 2021Victor Moses has taken to social media to react to Spartak Moscow's dramatic 3-2 win over Napoli in a Europa League game at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on Thursday evening.
Having lost at home in their opening Europa League match, the Russian Premier League side rose to the occasion against Napoli and former Chelsea wing-back Victor Moses was one of their standout players in the win.
The Blues played with ten men for more than an hour as Mario Rui was sent off after a VAR review for a dangerous tackle on the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner.
Slovakian referee Ivan Kruzliak initially produced a yellow card but it was upgraded to a red after he consulted with the VAR.
Napoli headed into the break a goal up thanks to Elmas' opener in the eleventh second.
Ten minutes into the second half, Promes fired past goalkeeper Alex Meret after Moses rolled the ball into the penalty area.
Mikhail Ignatov made it 2-1 with ten minutes left before Promes, with his second of the game, extended their lead in the 90th minute, rendering a late, late goal from Victor Osimhen a mere consolation.
Reacting to Spartak Moscow's win, Moses posted on Instagram few hours after the game : "Fantastic win tonight against a top side!"
Moses won the Europa League in his first season at Chelsea and was a member of the Inter Milan side beaten by Sevilla in the 2020 showpiece.
