'You are not Maradona, pass' - Ex-Chelsea star Victor Moses tells Spartak Moscow teammate
Published: October 16, 2021
Goalkeeper Artem Rebrov has revealed what Victor Moses told his Spartak Moscow teammate Zelimkhan Bakaev at half-time during their Europa League meeting with Napoli on September 30.
The former Chelsea star noted that the Spartak Moscow number 10 opted to go alone as if he were Maradona in the opening forty minutes and advised him to make more passes to his teammates.
Arguably, Spartak Moscow's come-from-behind win against Napoli was Moses's best performance this season.
The Italian team played with ten men for more than an hour as Mario Rui was
sent off after a VAR review for a dangerous tackle on the 2013 Africa
Cup of Nations winner.
Ten minutes into the second half, Promes fired past goalkeeper Alex Meret after Moses rolled the ball into the penalty area.
Speaking to sports.ru, Rebrov said : "I have never seen Moses as energized as in Naples. During the break, he told Bakaev: "You are not Maradona, play pass." Yeschenko added: "Baka, look how Insigne plays. Receives and gives to the flank, accepts and gives to the flank. They are not found, they are not trying to beat the whole team alone. "
Moses won the Europa League with Chelsea in 2013 and was in the Inter Milan side beaten 3-2 by Sevilla in the 2020 showpiece.
