Published: November 07, 2021
2013 Africa Cup of Nations-winning striker Emmanuel Emenike has been ranked the most effective scorer in the history of the Russian Premier League.
Championat.com has compiled a list of the most effective scorers in the Russian Premier League, with the former Nigeria international placing first ahead of Vagner Love and Vladimir Beschastnykh.
Former Spartak Moscow man Emenike made his Russian Premier League debut against Anzhi on August 14, 2011 and exactly two weeks later netted his first goal in the division in his third match against CSKA Moscow.
He reached double figures in his maiden campaign in the Russian Premier League with 13 goals to his name, tallied five goals the following season and scored three in four appearances in the 2013-2014 campaign.
Emenike's 21 goals were spread across 42 appearances in which he totaled 3,020 minutes, averaging a goal every 144 minutes.
The retired Nigeria international bagged his only hat-trick in the Russian Premier League against Lokomotiv Moscow on October 29, 2011, and scored a brace against the same opponents and Rostov.
Emenke scored in three consecutive matches before sealing a transfer to Fenerbahce in August 2013.
