Breaking : Former Gunner Nwakali racing against time to join Burgos CF on loan
Published: January 31, 2022
Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that former Arsenal starlet Kelechi Nwakali is racing against time to seal a loan move away from Spanish Segunda Division side SD Huesca.
In the final hour before the close of the winter transfer market, the Nigeria international has just agreed a loan move to Burgos CF who are above SD Huecsa in the league table.
Nwakali's imminent move to the Blanquinegros would all but end his association with Huesca if the paperwork is completed before the deadline.
The ASJ Football Academy product has entered the final six months of his contract with SD Huesca and they have started planning for life without him, hence the sanctioning of the loan deal.
Nwakali recorded 33 appearances for SD Huesca across two and a half seasons comprising 5 in La Liga, 4 Copa del Rey and 24 in the Segunda Division.
The 2015 U17 World Cup winner was involved in all the matches played by the Super Eagles at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations with the exception of the 1-0 loss to Tunisia in the round of 16.
Nwakali enjoyed loan spells at MVV Maastricht, FC Porto and VVV Venlo during his time at Arsenal and was on loan at AD Alcorcón for the second half of last season.
