Norwich City U18's Eze suffers defeat on return to Chelsea; Flower with game-winning assist
Published: March 19, 2022Anglo-Nigerian midfielder Dubem Eze suffered defeat with Norwich City U18s on his return to Chelsea on Saturday afternoon.
Eze played against a Chelsea side for the first time since his departure from Stamford Bridge in April 2021.
The talented teenager started the season with Derby County U18s before signing another scholarship agreement with Norwich City in December for the rest of the 2021-2022 campaign.
Fullback Derrick Abu and winger Tudor Mendel-Idowu started for the young Blues and Eze went the distance for the Canaries and picked up a booking with nine minutes left.
Chelsea showed good character to come from behind twice to take all three points in the U18 Premier League clash.
Silcott-Duberry and Billy Gee cancelled out efforts from Alex Matos and Ken Aboh , before Jude Soonsup-Bell's game-winning strike three minutes from time.
Young professional Louis Flower, a striker of Nigerian descent, played a key role in Chelsea's win, setting up the third goal scored by the Blues after coming off the bench in the 59th minute.
