Published: June 10, 2022
Chelsea have submitted their retained list to the English Premier League following the conclusion of the 2021-2022 season.
The Blues have confirmed that six young professionals and one scholar of Nigerian descent will remain on the books of the club ahead of the upcoming season.
2019 Golden Eaglets invitee Prince Adegoke has been retained along with Faustino Anjorin, Derrick Abu, Richard Olise, Bryan Fiabema and Louis Flower.
Exciting winger Tudor Mendel-Idowu will enter the second year of his scholarship on July 1, 2022.
None of the aforementioned players made appearances for Chelsea first team over the course of last season.
England U20 international Faustino Anjorin was farmed out on loan to Lokomotiv Moscow for the first half of the campaign and ended the season with Championship side Huddersfield Town.
Fiabema, Chelsea's development top scorer with eight goals, is spending the 2022 Norwegian season at Rosenborg.
Adegoke made 22 all-competition appearances for Chelsea U18s last term, Mendel Idowu played 24 games, while Olise, Abu and Flower recorded 18, 19 and 25 appearances respectively.
