Official : Sporting Kansas City acquire Nigerian attacker, pending ITC and P1 visa
Published: June 23, 2022
Through their official website, Major League Soccer club Sporting Kansas City have announced the acquisition of Nigerian attacker William Agada from Israeli outfit Hapoel Jerusalem.
He has signed an MLS contract through 2023 with options for the 2024 and 2025 seasons, pending receipt of his International Transfer Certificate and P1 visa.
Agada will be added to Sporting Kansas City's roster when Major League Soccer's Secondary Transfer Window opens on July 7, and he could be in line to make his debut for his new employers when they take on CF Montréal on July 9.
He is the second player to join Sporting Kansas City from the Israeli Premier League in the last three seasons, following in the footsteps of Ethiopian-born Israeli international Gadi Kinda.
The 22-year-old netted 31 goals in 100 appearances in three seasons with Hapoel Jerusalem and bagged six during a loan spell with Hapoel Haifa in 2020-2021.
Commenting on his transfer to Sporting Kansas City, Agada said : "It is a dream to play for a club like this and I hope to come in and help the team succeed.
"This is a great opportunity for me and I can't wait to compete in front of the fans in Kansas City."
Sporting Kansas City are currently 12th in the Western Conference table with sixteen points accumulated after seventeen matches.
