Tottenham target Udogie happy to be linked with top clubs; chooses to represent Italy over Nigeria

Destiny Udogie has reacted to speculation in the media linking him with top European clubs in the summer transfer window, including Tottenham Hotspur, Inter Milan and Juventus.

The Italian-Nigerian put himself in the shop window after an outstanding season at Udinese that saw his register five goals and set up three others in 35 Serie A appearances.

Udinese do not want to lose Udogie this summer as they see him as a player for the future and it would take a big bid to lure him away from the Dacia Arena.

The 19-year-old is tied to Udinese for the next four seasons, joining them on a permanent deal this summer following a successful loan spell in 2021-2022.

Asked how he feels that big clubs are knocking on the door of the Pozzo family, Udogie told Tuttomercatoweb : "It is very nice to be approached by top-level clubs.

"I live it serenely and thinking about the field. My agents think about the market, they know my thoughts and have my total trust ".

Udogie has caps for Italy at U16, U17, U18, U19 and U21 levels and the left-back is leaning towards representing
gli Azzurri over the Super Eagles at senior level, saying he's thinking of joining the team coached by Roberto Mancini.

"I will do everything to make myself appreciated by the coach, it is a goal that I particularly care about," said Udogie.

Should Udogie's dream to play international football for the four-time world champions materialize, he would be following in the footsteps of Angelo Ogbonna and Stefano Okaka, who both chose to play for the European giants over Nigeria.
