German-born defender Abu on target for Chelsea U21s in 4-0 win vs FC Cologne
Published: July 09, 2022Chelsea U21 squad got their preseason games off to a flying start at Cobham with a thumping 4-0 victory over German side FC Cologne on Saturday afternoon.
Chelsea youth team guru Chelsea Youth has informed that German-born Nigeria-eligible fullback Derrick Abu was on target for Mark Robinson's team late in the second half.

Jayden Wareham scored the opening two goals in the first half before 18-year-old Abu and Jude Soonsup-Bell got on the score-sheet late in the second half to complete the rout.
Abu made nineteen appearances for Chelsea U18s team last season in all competitions, registering two goals in the league and one in the FA Youth Cup.
Chelsea development squad have lined up friendlies against Boreham Wood (July 16), Swansea City (July 26) and Bromley (July 30).
They will be participating in the inaugural MLS Next Pro Invitational later this month in the United States, where they will face Wolverhampton Wanderers,Real Monarchs, Colorado Rapids 2 and Toronto FC II in a five-team tournament scheduled to hold July 19-27.
