Three teenagers of Nigerian descent feature for Eagles in 2-0 loss to Liverpool

Crystal Palace fell to a 2-0 defeat to Liverpool in a pre-season friendly staged at the National Stadium in Singapore on Friday, July 15, with three teenagers of Nigerian descent handed minutes by Eagles boss Patrick Vieira.

2019 Golden Eaglets invitee Malcolm Ebiowei and exciting left-back Tayo Adaramola hopped off the bench in the 65th minute, while talented central midfielder David Ozoh played the last eighteen minutes.

Nigerian Federation targets Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze have not traveled to Asia owing to either fitness issues or their Covid-19 vaccination status.

Ebiowei made his second appearance of the pre-season following his summer move from Derby County.

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson opened the scoring in the 12th minute when he found the far corner with a first-time finish after he was set up by Elliot and his goal was the difference at the break.

Few seconds after his introduction, Egypt talisman Mohamed Salah forced a shot past goalkeeper Guaita to double the advantage for Jurgen Klopp's side in the 46th minute.

Crystal Palace teenage strikers Victor Akinwale and Ademola Ola-Adebomi were both named in the matchday squad but were unused substitutes.
