Opinion - Arsenal, Liverpool, Man Utd, Bayern or Barca : Which would be Chukwuemeka's best choice?

With the transfer window rumbling ahead and clubs doing all they can to strengthen their squads before the new season starts, monumental deals are getting completed with examples being Chelsea's capture of Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly.

However, a key transfer story doing the rounds is the reported interest from traditionally prestigious clubs in Nigeria-eligible midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka.

The likes of Arsenal and Manchester United have been joined by Liverpool, Bayern and Barcelona in the race for Chukwuemeka's signature.

With the number of prestigious clubs after his signature, Chukwuemeka would no doubt have a tough time deciding which club to join, which is why allnigeriasoccer takes a look at the situation to arrive at a verdict on which club would be the best choice for Chukwuemeka.

Chukwuemeka's style of play

The Anglo-Nigerian is a powerful, skilful & creative box-to-box midfielder. He has a good body mass ratio, physical strength, power, stamina and natural fitness to ride challenges from opponents. He is best described as an all-round midfielder.

For a player his size, Chukwuemeka had great coordination, agility, work rate and footwork. He also possesses a high level of stamina and agility to make incisive runs on and off the ball from midfield.

Another thing that catches the eye is that Chukwuemeka is a press-resistant player. This is a rare trait for a player of his age.

Chukwuemeka has characteristics that are similar to that of French midfielder Paul Pogba in terms of his technique but he has the talent to take it up a notch.

Chukwuemeka is best suited to a 4-3-3 formation In the 4-3-3, he's best suited as a number 8 in the second phase of play where he can carry the ball forward powerfully.

Clubs interested in Chukwuemeka

Arsenal

The Gunners are currently playing a 4-3-3 under Mikel Arteta. However, the club has no shortage of 8s as Emile Smith Rowe, Martin Odegaard, Fabio Vieira and even Granit Xhaka are available for the role.

With the club reportedly interested in signing Lucas Paqueta or Youri Tielemans, a move to the Emirates Stadium makes little sense for Chukwuemeka.

Liverpool

Jürgen Klopp is no doubt one of the pioneers of heavy metal 4-3-3 football and Chukwuemeka makes great sense for the club.

However, the likes of Alcantara, Henderson and the recent acquisition of Fabio Carvalho makes a move for Chukwuemeka less sensible in terms of game-time.

Manchester United

A move to Old Trafford this summer for Chukwuemeka makes zero sense. The Red Devils are just undergoing a major rebuild and the playing style is not yet settled. Moving to Manchester United should be ruled out.

Bayern Munich

The Bavarian giants are good at developing players with Nagelsmann being capable of extracting the best from his players. However, Sabitzer, Gravenberch, Goretzka and Musiala are incredible competition.

Barcelona

The best option for Chukwuemeka on this list. The Blaugrana manager Xavi Hernandez has shown that he is not afraid to play youngsters.

With the exit of Frenkie De Jong looking likely, Chukwuemeka would only have Pedri, Gavi, Gonzalez and Puig, Roberto and Pjanic as competitors, some of whom may soon be departing the Camp Nou.

The Spanish league has also grown quite a fame for being one of the most tactical leagues in Europe. Teams in the La Liga tend to use tactical superiority to win games rather than the hustle and bustle of the Premier League.

La Liga is one of the best places for a young player to learn control, tactics, creativity, vision and ball manipulation.

It is no coincidence that the likes of Xavi Hernandez, Andres Iniesta, Lionel Messi, and Sergio Busquets got their footballing education in La Liga and are master controllers despite not being physical.

Allnigeriasoccer Verdict

If he decides to leave Aston Villa, Chukwuemeka would do well to move to Barcelona if the Spanish giants come calling. If a move to Barca does not materialize, Bayern Munich might be a solid option.
