Arsenal's Nigeria-eligible striker lands in France ahead of transfer, deal to be concluded Tuesday
Published: August 01, 2022
Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that American-born Nigerian striker Folarin Balogun has landed in France to undergo a medical before he is announced as a new player of French Ligue 1 club Stade de Reims.
Reims and Arsenal have reached a club-to-club agreement for the temporary transfer of the England U21 international and the player has already agreed personal terms with the six-time French champions.
Barring an unlikely last-minute twist, everything concerning the transfer of the Hale End Academy graduate will be concluded on Tuesday, August 2.
Balogun is joining Reims on a season-long loan for the upcoming 2022-2023 season.
The 21-year-old is in good physical condition having trained with Arsenal's first team in pre-season and was part of the traveling squad to the United States.
It would be his second loan since his arrival at Arsenal at the age of eight as he played for Championship outfit Middlesbrough in the second half of last season.
Competition for places in Arsenal's attack is fierce with the addition of marquee player Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City and Balogun is leaving the Emirates Stadium in search of regular game time.
