Published: August 02, 2022
Crystal Palace have confirmed the squad numbers three Nigeria-eligible players will wear for the 2022-2023 season ahead of their Premier League opener against Arsenal at Selhurst Park on Friday.
Two former Arsenal schoolboys in Eberechi Eze and Malcolm Ebiowei will don the number 10 and 23 shirt respectively.
2021 Super Eagles invitee Michael Olise has retained the number 7 kit he wore in his first season as a Crystal Palace player.
Ebiowei played with the number 32 at the back of his jersey last season at Derby County.
Palace number 23 shirt has been worn by Conor Gallagher, Michy Batshuayi, Víctor Camarasa, Pape Souaré and Shola Ameobi among others in the past.
Crystal Palace have not revealed official shirt numbers for three other players of Nigerian descent in the shape of David Ozoh, Victor Akinwale and Ademola Ola-Adebomi, who were in the traveling party for the club's preseason tour to Singapore and Australia.
Akinwale, Ozoh and Ola-Adebomi are expected to be feature for the youth teams of the Eagles in 2022-2023 but are eligible to be named on Crystal Palace's Premier League roster as U21 players.
