Cardiff City interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur's Nigerian striker
Published: August 02, 2022Cardiff City are reportedly interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur's Derby-born Nigerian attacker Kion Etete in the summer transfer window but face competition from other Football League clubs.
Walesonline is reporting that the Bluebirds are keen on the young Spurs forward amid interest from divisional rivals.
Cardiff City chairman Mehmet Dalman has stated that they are in the market for two strikers, with one joining on a permanent deal and a more experienced forward on loan.
And based on his pronouncement, it means Cardiff City are working on a deal to sign the 20-year-old permanently.
Tottenham Hotspur are willing to cash in on Etete as he has entered the last one-year of his contract.
A striker with physical attributes, Etete spent the first half of last season on loan at League Two club Northampton Town and played 23 games before completing the campaign at Cheltenham Town, for whom he scored three goals and registered three assists in thirteen games.
Etete arrived at Tottenham Hotspur from Notts County in the summer of 2019.
