The initial transfer fee for the player is 500,000 pounds (approximately N254 million in Nigerian currency) plus performance-related add-ons.
Per the report, Tottenham Hotspur rate Etete highly and have insisted on inserting a buyback clause into the deal taking him to Cardiff City.
The Derby-born attacker was farmed out on loan to two Football League clubs in 2021-2022, starting the campaign at Northampton Town before finishing the season at Cheltenham Town.
Overall, Etete has recorded 35 appearances in the Football League, scoring six goals and registering four assists.
He is set to become the third player of Nigerian descent to join Cardiff City in the summer transfer window, after Super Eagles defender Jamilu Collins and 2017 FIFA U20 World Cup winner Sheyi Ojo.
